1. Do all religions lead to God?
The short answer is no. Many eastern and new age religion teaches that all religion are valid ways to God. Sometimes they will add that one has to be sincere and/or good. This is referred to as religious pluralism which is a form of relativism. You don't even have to be a Christian to know that this CANNOT be true. All you have to be is a honest thinking person and here's why.
(a)
These systems claim that all religions are valid, this means that even Christianity is valid.
(b) Christianity teaches that Jesus is the ONLY way to God.
(c) The conclusion then is that since Christianity is valid (true) all other religion must necessarily be false.
You can't have it both ways, either Christianity is true and all others are false; or some other religion is true and Christianity is false. Here are some Biblical reference:
- John 14:6 "Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me"
- 1 Tim 2:5 "For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus"
- Acts 4:11-12 "He is the STONE WHICH WAS REJECTED by you, THE BUILDERS, but WHICH BECAME THE CHIEF CORNER stone. (v12) And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved."
2. How many times has the bible been translated?
Often times you will hear critics hostile to Christianity making statements that the bible we have today cannot be trusted to be accurate because it has been translated and retranslated into too many languages over thousands of years before it it was finally translated into the English language. The argument asserts that as you go from one language to another you loose some of the meaning which makes it difficult if not impossible to extract the meaning intended by the original authors. Is this a fair criticism and is is true?
The only people who raises such an objection against the bible are those who are uninformed about the true history of the bible. As Christians, this is one question that has a very easy answer. The Old Testament was largely written in Hebrew while the New Testament was written in Greek and we still have thousands of copies of these manuscript available to us. The bibles we have today has only been translated ONCE! The Old Testament was transacted from Hebrew-to-English and the New Testament form Greek-to-English.
